Reading and Writing:
We will continue our guided reading groups and are working towards finding our “just right book.” In writing, we will read different mentor texts to guide us in our own writing as we begin to create our own books.
RL.1.1 Ask and answer questions about key details in a story.
W.1.3 Write narratives in which they recount 2 or more appropriately sequenced events including details and temporal words.
Students will solve addition problems by using the counting on strategy to create number bonds and finding the missing addend through totals of ten. We will draw pictures to help us in solving addition problems.
1.OA.5 Relate counting to addition and subtraction
1.OA.6 Add with 20 (using drawings and counting on)
(Ms. Huynh’s class only). We will continue to learn about engineers and start the process of designing a milk carton.
